Starting from the village of Nayapul, the trek takes you through lush rhododendron forests, terraced fields, and charming Gurung villages. Ghandruk, the main highlight, is a traditional village famous for its well-preserved culture and hospitality. The village offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre peaks, especially during sunrise and sunset.

This trek provides a cultural immersion into the lifestyle of the Gurung community, one of Nepal’s indigenous groups. You can visit the Gurung Museum, sample traditional cuisine, and participate in local activities. Along the way, you’ll encounter stone-paved paths, prayer flags fluttering in the wind, and ancient temples that add to the trek’s spiritual allure.

    1. Day 1

      Drive from Pokhara to Kimche and Trek to Ghandruk (2012m)

      Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes drive and 1 hour walk. The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Kimche, a small village surrounded by terraced fields and lush greenery. The drive offers stunning views of the Himalayan foothills and local settlements along the way. Upon reaching Kimche, the trek commences with a gentle ascent toward Ghandruk, one of the most picturesque villages in the Annapurna region. The trail is well-paved and takes you through terraced farmlands and traditional Gurung settlements. Ghandruk is renowned for its stone-paved lanes, rich cultural heritage, and panoramic views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machapuchare (Fishtail). Spend the evening exploring the village, visiting the Gurung Museum, or simply enjoying the tranquil mountain ambiance. Overnight at a teahouse in Ghandruk.

    2. Day 2

      Drive from Ghandruk to Pokhara

      Duration: 1 hour 35 minutes drive. After breakfast, bid farewell to the beautiful village of Ghandruk. A short walk takes you to the vehicle pickup point for the drive back to Pokhara. The journey offers more opportunities to admire the stunning landscapes of the Annapurna region. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you can relax by the serene Phewa Lake, explore the city’s attractions, or reflect on the peaceful experience of your trek. Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.
