    Day-by-day itinerary

    1. Day 1

      Kathmandu/Pokhara to Beshisahar (823m)

      The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu or Pokhara to Beshisahar, the starting point of the trek. The drive takes about 6-7 hours and offers beautiful views of Nepal’s countryside. You’ll pass through lush green hills, terraced farmlands, and small traditional villages, catching glimpses of snow-capped peaks in the distance. Beshisahar is a bustling town that serves as a gateway to the Annapurna region. Here, you’ll prepare for the trek ahead and spend the night in a comfortable teahouse.

    2. Day 2

      Beshisahar to Manang (3,540m)

      Today, you’ll take a jeep ride or bus from Beshisahar to Manang, which lies at a higher altitude. The journey takes around 5 hours and follows a rugged mountain road along the Marsyangdi River. As you ascend, the landscape begins to change, transitioning from lush forests and terraced fields to more arid and barren terrain characteristic of the Manang region. Upon arriving in Manang, you’ll notice the Tibetan-influenced culture and architecture of the region. Manang is a charming village nestled in the valley with stunning views of Annapurna II, III, and Gangapurna.

    3. Day 3

      Acclimatization Day at Manang (3,540m)

      Acclimatization is essential at this altitude to prepare your body for the thinner air. You’ll spend the day exploring Manang and its surroundings. You can take short hikes to nearby attractions, such as the Gangapurna Lake or the viewpoint above the village, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna range. Another popular option is hiking to the Bhojo Gumba or the Ice Lake (if time permits). This day is also an opportunity to interact with the locals and experience the unique culture of the region.

    4. Day 4

      Manang to Yak Kharka (4,050m)

      The trek resumes with a gradual ascent towards Yak Kharka. The trail leads through alpine landscapes, with sparse vegetation and breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks. You’ll pass through smaller settlements and grazing pastures where yaks and other livestock are often seen. The journey takes 5-6 hours, and as you gain altitude, the air becomes noticeably thinner. Yak Kharka is a small settlement with basic accommodations, surrounded by spectacular mountain views.

    5. Day 5

      Yak Kharka to Thorung Phedi (4,525m)

      Today’s trek is relatively shorter, taking about 3-4 hours. The trail steadily climbs towards Thorung Phedi, the last stop before the challenging Thorung La Pass. The path is rugged, and you’ll need to cross a wooden bridge over the Marsyangdi River. The terrain becomes more barren, with towering cliffs on either side. Thorung Phedi is a small, rugged settlement providing basic facilities for trekkers. You’ll rest here to prepare for the challenging ascent to the Thorung La Pass the following day.

    6. Day 6

      Thorung Phedi to Muktinath (3,800m) via Thorung La Pass (5,416m) and Drive to Jomsom (2,743m)

      This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek. Starting early in the morning, you’ll ascend the steep and winding trail to Thorung La Pass, the highest point of the trek at 5,416 meters. The climb is demanding but immensely rewarding, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After crossing the pass, the trail descends steeply towards Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists. The Muktinath Temple and its 108 water spouts are spiritually significant and serene. From Muktinath, you’ll take a jeep ride to Jomsom, where you’ll spend the night.

    7. Day 7

      Jomsom to Pokhara (822m)

      The final day involves a 7-8 hour bus ride from Jomsom back to Pokhara. The drive takes you through the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. You’ll pass through charming villages, terraced fields, and river valleys as you descend to Pokhara. Once in Pokhara, you can relax and celebrate the completion of your adventure while enjoying the vibrant city and its beautiful lakeside setting.
